Terms of Service

Last updated: July 21, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and GitFolio AI. We have kept them short and readable so you actually know what you are agreeing to when you use the Service.

The short version: Use GitFolio fairly and legally, keep your account secure, and the portfolios and resumes you create stay yours. The Service is provided as is, and these terms explain the limits of that. The sections below give you the full picture.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using GitFolio AI ("GitFolio," "the Service," "we," or "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service.

2. Who can use GitFolio

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for making sure your use of GitFolio is legal where you live.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything that happens under it. Please use a strong password, do not share your login, and tell us right away if you notice any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable use

To keep GitFolio safe and useful for everyone, you agree not to:

  • Break the law or infringe anyone else's rights while using the Service.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent whose GitHub profile or work you are showcasing.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, hack, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service.
  • Upload malicious code or use GitFolio to distribute spam or harmful content.

We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these rules.

5. Your content

You keep full ownership of the content you create — your portfolios, resumes, and profile details. By using GitFolio, you give us a limited license to store, display, and process that content only as needed to operate and improve the Service (for example, to show your public portfolio to people you share it with). This license ends when you delete the content or your account.

6. AI-generated content

GitFolio uses AI to help generate text such as bios and project summaries from your public GitHub data. AI can make mistakes, so please review anything it produces before you publish or share it. You are responsible for the final content on your portfolio, and we recommend checking it for accuracy.

7. Our intellectual property

The GitFolio platform itself — including its design, branding, logos, and code — belongs to us and is protected by law. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the platform without our written permission. This does not affect your ownership of the content you create.

8. Third-party services

GitFolio works alongside third parties such as GitHub, Google, analytics providers, and advertising partners. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which are outside our control.

9. Fees

GitFolio is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will make the pricing and terms clear before you are charged, and free features will remain clearly labeled.

10. Service availability

We work hard to keep GitFolio running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may perform maintenance that temporarily affects access.

11. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will be accurate or error-free, or that the Service will always meet your expectations.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GitFolio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Ending your use

You can stop using GitFolio and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that create risk for the Service or other users. When an account is closed, the content associated with it is removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to the service & terms

We may modify or discontinue features, and we may update these terms as GitFolio and the law evolve. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
